Express courier targets expansion

 HCM CITY — Hop Nhat Viet Nam Joint Stock Company, the first private firm with express services in all cities and provinces, targets to expand its network to 190 transaction points from the current 148.

The company will open this year a direct network to Europe, as it currently manages such a network to Asian destinations.

New IT applications will be developed to link with other express service providers of DHL and Fedex so that customers will be able to track their consignments.

The company expects to achieve VND190 billion (US$10 million) in turnover, up from last year's figure of VND150 billion.

Work begins on An Giang project

AN GIANG — An Giang Real Estate Joint Stock Company (ARES) has recently kicked off work for a major project in Mekong Delta An Giang Province which covers 100 ha of land.

This Chau Doc Festive Town Project requires around VND1.5 trillion to complete infrastructure, including roads, power and water supply and water drainage by the year-end.

The Taiwanese group EMHI and its local partner Vinh An Investment, Development and Trading Co. began building more than 300 houses in the Chau Doc Festive Town project.

Construction is expected for an international university by an Australian investor, and a petrol station, together with a four-star hotel by the joint stock firm AAA-Vinamotor by the end of this quarter.

Techcombank gives a little back

HCM CITY — Joint-stock Techcombank will hand out more than 200 houses and donated rice to poor households in remote rural Huong Khe Dist. of Ha Tinh Province until June, which will total VND3 billion.

It will build another 198 houses and help the families' children with vocational training, finding jobs via labour export companies by the end of 2015.

Last year this VND4.3 trillion bank earned VND2.25 trillion in net profit, and its assets value reached over VND 93 trillion. — VNS
