Deputy PM starts visit to Russia

HA NOI — Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan yesterday started his six-day working visit to Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Russia.

The visit is aimed to realise important agreements reached by the two Prime Ministers in December 2009.

His visit is also aimed to boost traditional ties between Russia's leading universities and Vietnam-ese training institutions.

He is accompanied by the Deputy Director of the Government Office, Nguyen Huu Vu, Deputy Foreign Minister, Nguyen Quoc Cuong, and Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Pham Vu Luan.

Delegates at the 11th National Party Congress yesterday voted to elect members for the 11th Party Central Committee, which will consist of 175 official and 25 alternate members.
As many as 175 official and 25 alternate members will be elected to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) for the 11th tenure.
