Operations stop at two shrimp processors

HA NOI — The National Agro-Forestry-Fishery Quality Assurance Department has suspended two businesses from operation for six months for injecting shrimps with agar to make them heavier.

This was the second time the businesses have been found guilty of injecting shrimps to raise profits.

Another 21 shrimp businesses in the southern provinces of Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau were also found to have used agar for the first time. – VNS
