AFF delegation visits Ha Noi
An ASEAN Football Federation delegation will visit Ha Noi next Monday to inspect Viet Nam’s facilities for hosting AFF cup.
They will audit My Dinh National Stadium’s facilities and hotels to satisfy the AFF and donors requirements on playing-surfaces and accommodation for players and organising board members.
Viet Nam and Indonesia will host the AFF Cup finals slated for December 1-29.
Malaysia will be a substitute if Viet Nam or Indonesia fails to meet the requirements of the AFF and donors.
The neighbouring country of Laos will host the AFF Cup qualifying rounds scheduled from 16-24 October.
Breakdance tournament in June
A national breakdance tournament will take place in June in Ha Noi, according to the National Sports Administration.
The street culture dance will join computer gaming e-sports as the latest in a list of more modern competitive events.
The upcoming tournament is expected to draw the participation of many dancers as well as the attention of youth nationwide.
Nguyen returns to former team
American-Vietnamese striker Lee Nguyen returned to train with V-League team Hoang Anh Gia Lai after a gap of more than three months.
According to a source, Lee didn’t want to return to Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) previously because of a dispute between him and clauses in his three-year contract.
Lee wants his salary increased to more than US$10,000 and be allowed to seek commercial sponsorship separately from the club.
Nguyen Tan Anh, manager of HAGL club said Lee’s demands had been resolved.
With Lee’s return, HAGL’s coach, former top Thai striker Kiatisuk Senamuang, can prepare for the opening match of the premier V-League between HAGL and Khatoco Khanh Hoa on January 31. — VNS
