HA NOI — Mai Nguyen Hung of Sai Gon Plant Protection won the second stage of the Binh Duong Television International Cycling Tour, which ended on the Hai Van pass.
Hung, who came third in the first stage on Tuesday, finished the 110km second stage in one hour 58 minutes and 3 seconds. He will now wear the yellow jersey for the best cumulative time of 3:25:49.
The HCM City-based cyclist also grabbed the red jersey for the best mountain climb after finishing first through the Phuoc Tuong, Phu Gia and Hai Van passes with an average speed of 40.2km/h.
Do Tuan Anh and Trinh Phat Dat of Domesco Dong Thap finished second and third.
Domesco Dong Thap lead the team race with a time of 10:18:32.
Bui Minh Thuy of ADC Vinh Long Television, who won the yellow jersey on Tuesday, was not among the leading racers, preferring instead to save his strength for today's 147km third stage from Da Nang to Quang Ngai city. — VNS
