The Ministry of Industry and Trade has allocated VND1 billion (US$55,000) for the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) province of Lam Dong to set up a programme to produce agricultural products under the Global Agriculture Practises (GAP) standard.
Advanced cultivation, harvest and post-harvest preservation techniques will be used for coffee and vegetables, the province's main agricultural products, according to the province's Department of Industry and Trade.

HCM City strengthens forest fire prevention

Dung Quat to build underground depot
The Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board on Thursday awarded an investment license for the Petrovietnam Underground Depot Ltd. Company to an underground petrol depot project. The US$340 million project will be built in an area of 280 ha in Dung Quat Economic Zone in the central province of Quang Ngai. The underground petrol depot would be able to store 1.6 million tonnes of crude oil when it is completed in mid-2015.
