NA Chairman seeks tourism ties with Bali
BALI — Viet Nam wants the Indonesian resort island of Bali to co-operate and share experiences about tapping potential and developing tourism, National Assembly chairman Nguyen PhuTrong said.
Viet Nam has promoted numerous destinations, which includes the five world heritage sites of Ha Long Bay, Hue, My Son, Phong Nha-Ke Bang cave and Hoi An. Chairman Trong made the remarks during his meeting with Governor of Bali Prongce Made Mangku Pastika on Tuesday.
Trong praised Bali's recent socio-economic achievements, which has helped boost tourism on the island.
"Viet Nam has always attached importance to maintaining a comprehensive partnership with Indonesia on a bilateral basis, as well as within a regional and international co-operation framework," he said.
The chairman urged the two sides to implement the "Declaration on Friendly and Comprehensive Co-operation Framework for the 21st century".
The Bali Governor said that the Vietnamese people's improved living conditions and social security came as a result of comprehensive development.
He said he wished to learn more about Viet Nam's experience in natural disaster management.— VNS
