Government leader receives ambassadors

HA NOI – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung yesterday met with newly-accredited ambassadors for France and Poland in Ha Noi.

Upon receiving French diplomat Jean Francois Girault, the Government leader said that he appreciated the co-operation projects between the two countries that had thus far been implemented, particularly the science and technology university being built in Viet Nam by the French Government.

He said that projects using French official development aid (ODA) had been effectively implemented in Viet Nam.

Viet Nam expected to receive more ODA from the French government, especially in the fields of environment, climate change, education and training, he said.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister hoped that the new Polish ambassador, Pavel Wojciechwski, would help promote bilateral ties in all fields between the two nations.

He appreciated the upcoming visit by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk to Viet Nam, and hoped it would open up new co-operation opportunities between the two countries.

Vietnamese, RoK legislators further ties

HA NOI — The National Assembly of Viet Nam expected to enhance exchanges of experience with other lawmakers, including those from the Republic of Korea (RoK), said NA Deputy Chairman Uong Chu Luu.

He made the statement when receiving the chairman of the RoK National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee, Cho Jin-Hyeong, in Ha Noi yesterday.

The South Korean lawmaker said that the fostered bilateral co-operation would not only be a benefit for his country, but would also help in the development of Viet Nam.

He hoped that the Vietnamese Government and the National Assembly would create more favourable conditions for Korean enterprises to run businesses in Viet Nam, especially through the simplification of administrative procedures.

He promised to continue their legal reforms and make policies towards the expat communities, including about 90,000 Vietnamese people.

The Korean legislator also thanked Viet Nam for its support in the peace process on the Korean Peninsula, and hoped the country would carry on with its stance.—VNS
