Five ministers assigned to join NA Committee meeting

HA NOI — Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung last Friday assigned five ministers to attend and answer questions from members of the National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) during its week-long meeting, which starts today.

The Minister of Finance will give answers relating to price management, inflation curbing, the issuance and use of Government bonds, tax management and the property of State-owned enterprises.

Specifically, issues that the Finance Minister will have to explain include the rising prices of essential goods, measures to realise this year's target of keeping inflation under 7 per cent and the implementation of the National Assembly's resolution on State budget estimates.

He will also be asked about the ministry's responsibilities in Pacific Airlines' operations, and measures to boost the equitisation progress of State-owned enterprises in line with the Law on Enterprises.

The session will also draw the participation of the Minister of Planning and Investment and the Minister of Industry and Trade.

The Government leader assigned the Minister of Construction to answer questions about State management over labour safety, urban areas and construction planning.

The Minister of Planning and Investment and the Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs will also take part in clarifying the related issues.

Earlier, Prime Minister Dung on February 26 asked the related ministries to prepare for the six bills to be presented at the NASC meeting. — VNS
