VN, Cambodia to make border maps

HA NOI — Viet Nam and Cambodia signed a contract with Denmark's BlomInfo A/S to map the border between the two countries at the Cambodian Council of Ministers' Office in Phnom Penh yesterday.

Signatories were Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the Vietnamese side at the joint committee on border demarcation and border marker planting Ho Xuan Son, head of the Cambodia side at the joint committee Var Kim Hong, and Blom Info A/S's Director of International Business Claus Poetzsch.

The signing of the contract followed four days of negotiations between the three parties that started on Monday.

The map-making contract testifies to the determination and close co-operation of the two countries to complete a set of land border maps by the end of next year, contributing to building a border of peace and friendship. — VNS

Delegates at the 11th National Party Congress yesterday voted to elect members for the 11th Party Central Committee, which will consist of 175 official and 25 alternate members.
As many as 175 official and 25 alternate members will be elected to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) for the 11th tenure.
