VN, China vow to enhance ties

HA NOI — Viet Nam wanted to boost exchanges and co-operation in all fields with China, solve existing issues between the two countries and enhance the comprehensive friendly relationship for mutual benefit, peace, sustainability and development in the region and the world, said a Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) official.

Speaking to representatives of the Communist Part of China (CPC) in Beijing yesterday, Politburo member and Secretary of the CPV's Central Committee To Huy Rua said that the Party, State and people of Viet Nam wished to work with China to realise all common perceptions reached by leaders of the two countries during Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's trip to China last October.

Rua said that the traditional Viet Nam-China friendship, which was established by the late President Ho Chi Minh and the late Chinese Chairman Mao Zedong and developed by generations of officials, needed to be further developed for the future generations.

Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC's Central Committee Li Changchun said that the friendship and co-operation between the two Parties, States and peoples played an important role in each country's national development as well as to peace, stability and co-operation in the region and the world.

He stressed that the Chinese side always attached great importance to the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership with Viet Nam, adding that China pledged to work with Viet Nam to enact all consensus between the two countries and achieve beneficial results for the two peoples.

Earlier on Wednesday, Rua and the Vietnamese delegation held talks with Chinese Politburo member and the Head of the CPC's Organisation Department Li Yuanchao. The two sides exchanged experiences in personnel work of the Parties, especially in training and fostering cadres. They agreed to boost exchanges and human resources training co-operation.

During his Beijing trip, Rua and his delegation also met with the head of the CPC Central Committee's International Department, Wang Jiarui, and visited the CPC's Central Party School and Chongqing Province. — VNS

Delegates at the 11th National Party Congress yesterday voted to elect members for the 11th Party Central Committee, which will consist of 175 official and 25 alternate members.
As many as 175 official and 25 alternate members will be elected to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) for the 11th tenure.
