NA Chairman receives new Lithuanian ambassador

HA NOI — The National Assembly is ready to set up relations with the Lithuanian legislative body to exchange experiences in legislation and supervision, said NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung while receiving newly appointed Lithuanian ambassador Lina Antanaviciene yesterday.

Hung suggested the two countries establish an inter-governmental mechanism to promote economic-trade co-operation.

The two countries' governments and legislative bodies should increase the number of visits of high-ranking delegations, parliamentarian groups and officials to increase mutual understanding. — VNS

Delegates at the 11th National Party Congress yesterday voted to elect members for the 11th Party Central Committee, which will consist of 175 official and 25 alternate members.
As many as 175 official and 25 alternate members will be elected to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) for the 11th tenure.
