Five suspects arrested in illegal shootout

HCM CITY — HCM City police yesterday arrested five out of nine suspects linked to an illegal gun fight in Co Giang Ward of District 1.

The gunfight, in which one person was injured, occurred on Monday between two rival gangs. City police have seized two motorbikes and one scimitar as part of an ongoing investigation into the fight.

Police seize 1,000 doses of heroin

BA RIA – VUNG TAU — As many as 1,000 doses of heroin were found and seized on Monday in Vung Tau City's Ward 11.

Police found the heroin hidden inside hundreds of cigarettes at the house of suspect Duong Van Phong, 48.

This is the biggest quantity seized by the provincial police to date.-VNS
