Speaking test added to language competition

HA NOI — High school students who take part in the national foreign language competition this year will have to take a speaking test for the first time, announced head of the Ministry of Education's Educational Testing and Quality Assessment Department Ngo Kim Khoi.

During the 10-minute speaking test, students will have seven minutes to listen to questions and prepare answers, and three minutes to record their responses.

Students previously only sat for written tests in foreign language contests.
