Teachers to receive allowances for seniority

HA NOI — Teachers will be provided with seniority allowance starting from May 1 this year, according to a joint circular of the Ministries of Education and Training, Internal Affairs, Finance and Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Under the circular, the beneficiaries of the allowance are teachers who have minimum of five-year experience. The monthly allowance will be equal to 5 per cent of their existing salary, and will increase by 1 percentage point for each additional year.

The seniority allowance for teachers was implemented in 1988, but was abrogated in 1993. — VNS
